Our Purpose:

“To knowledgeably guide consumers and industry professionals in cultivating deeper appreciation for the great art of craft brewing.”

The story of beer is the story of people in community. It’s been that way for thousands of years, and it’s still true today. Beer has been at the center of human community from the beginning of civilization– and may even have been the cause of it! Beers, like people, come in a spectrum of colors, from pale to dark; they come from different cultures and regions all over the world; and they come in all sorts of flavors– some are fruity, some are sour, some are mild, and some are… nutty! We believe humanity is at its best when we learn to appreciate all of them– beer and people! To that end, we are here to serve as knowledgeable and trusted guides to both brewers and consumers, to elevate the artistry and appreciation of craft brewing in community!

Paul Schultz is our Certified Cicerone. He has been a brewer for 15 years, and has won gold, silver, and bronze medals at several regional competitions. He is a recognized BJCP judge, holds a certificate in craft brewing from Cornell University, and is currently studying to become one of fewer than 200 Advanced Cicerones in the world. A gifted teacher, his experience and knowledge of beer history, brewing, serving, and evaluation provides a wealth of information and guidance! But beware! His passion for beer is contagious!

Jennifer Schultz is our owner and Certified Beer Server. She has a broad knowledge of brewing processes, keeping and serving, beer styles, and evaluation. Jennifer is an adept trainer and a great source of information for service staff– a valuable asset to brewers and consumers alike. In addition to being a long-time homebrewer, she is the mother of three adult children– and one husband! Jennifer is currently studying to become a Certified Cicerone, and is looking forward to sharing the great art of craft brewing and beer service with you!
